The remaining third of the Ivy League Connection students, as well as a few parents and chaperones, congregated yesterday morning at Hercules High School for a blogging tutorial led by Don Gosney.
It was an exciting opportunity to meet some of the other participants of the program, and as I flipped through the thick pamphlet of an agenda that was being passed around the computer room, a wave of familiarity washed over me.
I had the most wonderful opportunity to have participated in the Ivy League Connection the previous year. As part of the pioneer group that traveled to Vanderbilt University last summer, I absorbed more than just the blazing sun down South; the culture, the people, the knowledge - those aspects and more expanded my understanding of the world around me and led me to appreciate culture more than ever. I am very excited for what this year's Vanderbilt cohort has in store for them!
Returning to the program as what I hope is a seasoned participant, the lessons I have learned and the experiences I have gained through my previous experience will hopefully bolster me up for what is to come at Yale this summer.
Summer is just around the corner - and by the time that warm morning in July rolls around, we'll be ready.
